Join Delta Informal Gardeners at our August meeting to find out. We are pleased to welcome Debbie Arnold of the Northern California Unit of the Herb Society of America. Debbie and a fellow member will present “Five Essential Herbs to Grow and Use.”

Debbie will introduce five essential herbs and explain how they can be grown, harvested, and enjoyed at home.
The presentation will explore:

- Harvesting and preserving herbs
- The different flavors, fragrances, and textures herbs bring to the garden
Debbie and her fellow presenter will bring live plants so attendees can see the differences among the five herbs. Herbal extracts will also be available for purchase for those who are interested.
Meet the Northern California Herb Society
The Northern California Unit of the Herb Society of America is an active community of herb enthusiasts. Founded in 1953, the group explores the horticultural, culinary, and traditional uses of herbs.
Members share their knowledge about teas, harvesting, preserving, natural dyes, propagation, crafts, and other creative ways to enjoy herbs. The group usually meets on the second Sunday of each month at Rodgers Ranch in Pleasant Hill.
